I prefer capacitive touch screens. Capacitive is what the iphone uses, the screens are generally made out of glass, which makes them more durable than resistive screens.
With a capacitive screen things tend to flow more smoothly because you don't have to push down to scroll or use buttons you just lightly tap. The downside is that you can't really use capacitive screens with gloves, or anything but your finger and specially made Styli because it senses your finger by electrical currents.
The benefits of resistive are that you can use anything you want to tap on the screen and you can use them while wearing gloves when it's cold out.
