Whatsapp for android used much memory internal to free this up, you need to manually remove it up.
You need "root explorer" download it, make sure your android already been rooted.
Find whatsapp log files, under /data/data/com.whatsapp/files/log remove all files under it, make sure it under r/w mode. See the picture.
